St Peter’s Facilities
St Peter’s is 18 years young and has well designed classrooms spread across our large campus. Classrooms and students have space to move and breath.
All classrooms are air-conditioned and like the grounds they are spacious. We have renovated 12 classrooms in the last two years and we will continue to do this to ensure our staff and students have excellent learning facilities.
Centrally located in the College is the Library. A large light filled building with numerous spaces that cater for Junior School students right through to the special study room for our Year 12 students.
The Performing Arts Centre is a modern facility that can hold 700 seated patrons. The sound quality of the building is first class. Here we have hosted a number of performances from our own productions through to community productions and professional musicians. Such is the sound quality of the venue it has also been used by a couple of bands to record albums. The music rooms (one in the Junior School and one in the Senior School) and four music practice rooms beautifully complement this building. The building of a recording studio in the near future will complement these facilities.
The TAS subjects are well serviced by a kitchen, butlers pantry, textiles room, two art rooms (one in the Junior School and one in the Senior School) and a woodwork room. We are about to commence construction of a new ‘workshop’. This will be a purpose built 500 square metre building for industrial art subjects like woodwork, jewelry making, metalwork, engineering and co-curricular subjects like surfboard making.
There are a number of covered areas for students to have lunch, complete work or just hangout. All Senior School students have a locker, thus there is no need to carry a heavy bag all day or to and from school.
The Junior School includes a dedicated Prep area (for students who turn 4), a dedicated Kindergarten area and modern classrooms which have all been renovated over the last two years. Being a P-12 campus, the Junior School students also have the opportunity to use all the facilities of the school. They particularly love cooking in the kitchen.
In 2021 St Peter’s will be moving Year 3 to the north of the campus into a dedicated facility. Year 3 will follow the Forrest School model. This facility will include a light filled classroom, a kitchen prep area, storage areas for boots and jackets and large verandahs. Surrounding the building will be food gardens, water tanks and a fire pit area.
In 2018 the College invested heavily in solar panels as we believe in helping the environment and also reducing our power costs. With our hours of operation schools are perfectly positioned to take advantage of solar technologies.
There are two bike areas, one at the front Office and one towards the back of the school. Many students who live close to the school ride or walk. We also have a dedicated bus shelter and bus lane for those who travel from a bit further away.
