Early Childhood Junior School Middle School Senior School

Music forms an integral part of the core program from Kindergarten to Year 8 and is taught by specialist teachers. It is an elective in the Senior School. Appropriate ensembles and choirs are developed over time. Performances are a regular event.

Individual instrumental tuition is offered during the school day at an additional cost. This opportunity for students to be instructed whilst at school is advantageous in a number of ways:

  • students are challenged and extended;
  • family time is used more efficiently; and
  • students become more efficient in their time management (they will be required to keep up with normal class work in addition to attending their instrumental lessons).

Lessons are to be rotated so that the same time slot is not always being impacted upon for the same individual. Currently tuition in piano, recorder, guitar, saxophone, clarinet and flute, voice and percussion are all available through this program. Hire of instruments can be arranged.

The Annual St Peter's Music Festival will this year be held on 31 May and 1 June at the College.
