St Peter's Anglican College operates under the Anglican Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn Diocesan Schools Council Ethos statement for Anglican Schools. Christianity is presented as part of the ongoing life of St Peter's in a very practical sense. Religious and Values education is also included formally in the curriculum. We seek to enhance the knowledge, skills, attitudes and spiritual awareness needed by students to understand themselves, their relationship with others and their relationship with God. Worship is a regular part of school life and draws particularly on the richness of Anglican spirituality and liturgy. Any student who wishes is prepared for Baptism, Holy Communion and Confirmation. At appropriate times, the worship life of the college is open to all members of the school community, and also to the wider community. St Peter's provides a balanced curriculum which caters for students with a wide range of abilities and which develops each student's intellectual, emotional, physical, spiritual, personal and social being. We assist students in their community relationships to demonstrate commitment to the common good of the college and of the wider community, reflecting the Christian mandate to advance the Kingdom of God. St Peter's provides a well-managed, safe and friendly environment conducive to self-discipline and learning. This is underpinned by respect for authority and for the integrity and worth of each individual, by tolerance of difference, and by high standards of courtesy. Due regard is given to traditions and dignity within school worship and school life and the Christian tradition of care for creation is encouraged. Through weekly Chapel services, Christian living lessons and the ethos of the staff, we seek to promote and model Christian values. Our Chaplain shares relevant lessons with the students and provides pastoral care. The Reverend Mark Sweeney was appointed College Chaplain after St Peter's was awarded a $60,000 grant over three years to provide Chaplaincy services. The grant is the source of our Chaplaincy funding and was received from the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations and the National School Chaplaincy Programme.
