Year 3 - Year 6 St Peter's Anglican College is committed to providing an educational environment that challenges and inspires each child to achieve personal potential in intellectual, spiritual, emotional, social and physical development. It meets individual and common needs by providing a creative and balanced curriculum which aims to attain excellence. The College philosophy centres on the belief that children are unique individuals with their own strengths, weaknesses, gifts and needs. The staff work closely with the children entrusted to their care so that they can successfully meet their needs, provide opportunities to extend their gifts and assist them with their weaknesses. The curriculum of the Junior School is based upon discovering the connections between curriculum areas by building on the skills and learning acquired in the Early Childhood School. Learning experiences enrich and immerse students in exciting and stimulating educational environments. The College has an extensive curriculum. Emphasis is upon: * The establishment of individual confidence with literacy, communication and numeracy. * Stimulating programmes of physical education, creative arts including music, and drama, personal, spiritual and cultural development and application of science and technology. Every student has access to the latest technology including the internet. Every classroom block contains a networked bank of computers for the students to use to access, manipulate and report appropriate information. Junior School students participate in two weekly events: Chapel and Assembly. The College Chaplain runs Chapel services, presenting a relevant message and leading singing. Weekly Assemblies allow students to share their work, musical talents, and personal successs and achievements with a wider audience. Parents are most welcome.
